終於等到"2004年4-6月母乳分享交流區"的topic.
My daughter, Jessie was born on April 10.
I breastfeed her for almost 7 weeks. As you said (甜心糖糖), the first month is difficult.... since I got mastitis.... considered giving up before.......
Fortunately, my husband and my religion supports me to continue with breastfeeding.
Now, it's getting better & better.

I am now planning to continue breastfeeding even after I get back to work. Any planning schedule that you can share ...... or anything that I have to do before the end of my maternity leave.

BTW, I have expressed almost 200 oz breastmilk in my "milk bank".... is that enough??

hello!大家好,終於有份入club了,我bb早幾日25日出左世,我正努力地餵人奶,不過真係好累呀!
依家阿b食唔定時,有時1個鐘頭唔夠又要食,有時食都食左1個鐘,唔知正唔正常呢?
而且我發覺佢大便好稀,小便唔係好多,但大便得好密,一路食已經一路痾緊,好不容易等佢訓著又要叫佢起身換片~你地係咪咁架,我好驚佢唔夠飽

我的寶貝女朗朗在5月25日早上7:40分出左世.仍然是全人奶bb,唔肯飲奶粉的體重記錄

餵母乳好處多不聲數,為左bb健康我地辛苦d都值得既。可以用"先苦後甜"來形容餵母乳！起初真係忍痛忍眼訓！當bb滿月後情況就好好多了。
呀b一想食就"那"起件衫就食得,飲幾多食幾多唔會浪費！
腸胃好到不得了,包保唔熱氣無便秘！

餵奶粉睇落好似無咁辛苦！但功夫多,又要日日消毒奶樽,半夜又要起身走去開奶，食剩奶又要倒！熱氣唔再講！

餵人奶真係好累架!又要忍痛和忍眼訓！谷奶時就痛上加痛！
頭頭半個月真係無覺好訓,半夜起成幾次身！
不過當呀b滿月後就會好d架啦!

大便稀而且密係正常架！
因為母乳的消化吸收較奶粉快,頭一兩個月,嬰兒每二到三小時就吃一次, 甚至有時一兩個小時就吃一次(尤其在晚上),這是很正常的。
出生兩週之內恢復到出生體重，就可以確定嬰兒吃到足夠的奶水了。

Hi there,
My son is 16 days old now. Ever since he was born, I've only fed him with formula for 3-4 meals only (It was the first few days when I did not have enough milk for him). From the 4th day onward, I began to "have milk" and the milk production improves day after day. I can now pump up to 6-8oz milk from my breasts each time. Last night I can even pump more than 10oz!!!

Originally, I would like to breast-feed my son directly, but there is some "problem" with my left breast that he does not like sucking it. I can only breast-feed him with my right breast, for other time, I have to bottle-feed him. The "problem" of my left breast is that the milk flow is too fast for him. Every time he suck from my left breast, milk will spill out from both sides of his mouth, making him angry and reject my nipple and then cry loudly. On the other hand, frequent breast-feeding from my right breast hurted my nipple (becuase my son sucks so hard). So I have to breast-feeding and bottle-feeding him alternatively. This makes him confuse my nipples with teats.

I really agree with 甜心糖糖 that "餵母乳好處多不聲數,為左bb健康我地辛苦d都值得既". My son weighed 3.21kg when he was born. He weighed 3.68kg yesterday. Doctor said the weight gain is very good.

I'll return to work in end of July, I want to ask when should I start to build up my milk bank? Since I can pump 6-8oz milk each time but my son only take 3-4oz milk each time, the rest of the milk will be throw away. I feel it is really a waste of the precious milk, but I don't know what to do with them. Will it be too soon to start building up the milk bank? I'm afraid that the milk will not be "fresh" after 2 months. Any suggestion?

My son is 9 days older then your daughter. He also eats irregularly. If he is awake after feeding, then he needs to be fed in an hour. If he goes to sleep after feeding, then he needs to be fed in about 2-3 hours (because he usually sleeps for 2-3 hours). There are some indicators that you can check to see if your bb have had enough:
1. have 6-7 wet diapers every day
2. weight gain
3. can sleep peacefully for 2-3 hours after feeding

Dear monkichi,

I started to bump and store milk 1.5 months before going to work (my baby is now 6 months and he drinks the defrosted milk in the day). If you have enough milk storage, you can mix it with rice cereal when the baby is about 4-5 months old.

You can buy disposable bottle bags from major department stores. If you have enough milk, you can store them into two bags. I bump about 6oz milk during lunch time and store them in the freezer and use a cooler to bring the packed milk home in the evening.

You can try to lean backward or lie down to slow down the flow of milk when breast feeding.

Since I will go back to work next month and I really want to continue breastfeeding my daughter. I would like to ask how can we shift our feedings (7 times 埋身餵) to the schedule when we back to work (i.e. pump once/twice in the office). How can our body adjust to this? How long will it take for the adjustment?? I have stored up almost 240 oz frozen milk in my milk bank already. Is that enough??

Jessie is fine and her schedule becomes more regular now (around 3 hours for 1 feeding, 6-7 feedings per day). And she starts to skip the overnight feedings in these few days. She has the last feeding around 11pm or 12am and then sleep for 6 hours. So I have the longest sleeping time since she was born.
Yes, I am also 埋身餵. When will you start to train 曉朗 to use bottle at home instead of 埋身餵
(for the case after you go back to work)??
Jessie has the poo twice or three times per day. You can try to use vaseline to avoid the "red pat pat".

I also did not wear bra at night in the past. But now, I have to wear bra 24-hour, because I have a very serious problem of "milk dripping". I need the bra to hold the breast pad.

Hi all,
I have a silly/funny question. Have you ever tried your own breast milk? How does it taste?

I've tried my own. I think the taste is rather sweety. Actually I do not drink milk myself because I do not like the "so" taste of milk. But I do not feel any "so" taste from my breast milk. My husband had tried also, he also said my breast milk is very sweety. He said it may be because I eat too much sweety food myself. :-P

想問下你食d咩野可以增加奶量,可以一次過泵10安奶咁多既?咁總共泵左幾多分鐘呀?

我多數埋身餵,最叻一次過泵到5-6安咋!
我試過自己d奶,味道甜甜地蘇蘇地啦!

曉朗食奶時間未算太有規律,時長時短,有時個幾鐘,有時亦會兩三個鐘先至要食！尤其扭眼訓佢就心引起。
Jessie好叻呀咁快戒到夜奶,我曉朗仲未可以,佢夜晚11:00-12:00食完後,訓到4:00要再食架!幸好次次食完好快又訓番。
出街我多數會帶奶粉,曉朗佢都好肯飲既！佢好刷得下架！食少陣都呱呱嘈！

I drink 1 big bowl of soup(made by my mother-in-law) in lunch and dinner and many cups of water everday. I think intake of liquid is important. I learned from nurses that "Kam Chum"(golden needle) "Wan Yee"(clould ear) can boost the production of milk. My mother-in-law sometimes use these to make soup. "

eanut, chicken feet" soup and "

apaya, fish" soup can also boost milk production. I also eat more rice each meal because the nurse said we need extra energy to make milk.

Usually I pump milk for 30 minutes each time (15 min from each breast) every 3-5 hours. I can pump more than 100 ml (> 3oz) from each breast, but the volumn varies every time. Last night I can pump 160ml (> 5oz) from each breast!!

I usually breast-feed my son in the day time and bottle-feed him at night. I also 呀b食緊既時候,另一邊係咁漏！So, if I am going to breast-feed him with my right breast, I will pump out milk from the left breast about 10-15 minutes before.

我bb早兩日黃疸入院,補左奶粉,今日12時出院後,佢6個鐘頭都唔起身叫肚餓,我好驚佢缺水,叫佢佢又唔醒,最多啜幾下又訓過,同我之前餵全人奶好大分別.好擔心...
