Pros
1 VERY convenient
with auto add value:
can buy food Cafe de Coral, Supermarket,
2 Car park: I remove watch from left hand, hold watch with my right hand,
and extend my right hand to reach out to the car park entrance octopus sensor.*
Even if I wear the octopus watch on my right hand, it's not far enough any way.
I don't find it too inconvenient. It is acceptable.
I have no problems using my left hand to put on the right sided octopus sensor.
3 Safety
Of course, we can just use normal octopus card, but need to
take my paper filled, thick wallet out of my pants trousers or tight jean pocket,
briefcase.
Sometimes, I wonder if a wallet is easier to be grabbed away by robbers.
CONS
I have owned 2 to 3 octopus watch consecutively
1 RUST
One Octopus watch got rust.
2 MOISTURE
Two octopus watch: they have a split ring design. I wonder
if that got loose.
The watches are "water resistant", but water vapour got in.
Sometimes, there are so many water droplet, that I cannot tell
the time.
It clears after I put the octopus watch in the camera dehumidifier box.
3 BRAND
I don't feel it is very "classy".
Very basic.
I prefer my Seiko watch's look, at least it does not rust.
4 Poor sensor registration
but I really like the octopus watch function.
At McDonald, and at other places, it is sometimes difficult for the octopus
sensor to register. It may take many attempts for a transaction to go through.
