I have been using it for 2 months. It's good for me. But it is not suitable for novice. Besides, you must take time to familiar with the its functions and to produce quality photo under different settings. BTW, it is a good camera.

I am using S30 but personally i don't like it. it's difficult to take clear photos for a group of people indoor, let's say 2 people with a baby. it always turns out to be blur. in fact, i have avoided shake-hands and waited long enough for the auto focus, however, the photos still not clear!? i have no doubt that taking the portrait of my baby (ie. big head photo) is okay but not otherwise.

do you have the same problem????

Lauren,

I am not sure whether S30 has auxiliary light for assistance autofocus under dark condition. S50 has this function.

You may try to use manual focus to see if it can get sharp image.

Besides, if you do not use flash at indoor, you must put your camera on the tripod and ask people not to move around 1-2 sec (but I don't think baby can do that).

anyway, i gave up on Canon Power Shot S30 and i just bought Nikon Coolpix 5200 and so far i like it very much. although i haven't got the chance to print out the photos, yet they are just good displayed on the computer screen!

i should have bought it earlier!

I am interested in Nikon Coolpix 5200 also, can you tell me more about the advantage of this model, moreover, I am much more concern the battery,
how long can it take photo before the next recharge?

If not urgent, waiting for S60, which is a bit smaller in size and got 28mm wide angle, should be @$3700..

S-60 have lots Shooting mode, like Noise Reduction, Bracketing (AE, Focus), Safety Shift, Rec. Review, Interval Shooting, Self-timer, PC-controlled Shooting, Wireless Controller ....... so what is WIRELESS CONTROLLER. But they don't include the controller ???? Why ??????

請問 S-60 可以影到淺景深相嗎 ???? Blur background ?????

I have been using Canon S30, S45, S50 (S series) and A80. I don't have the problem that they mentioned for those S series cameras. But I do find problem in slow focusing and slow capture speed for A80.

Wireless Controller.. Yes, for remotely control the shutter only. you might need to buy it seperately, should be @$100-200... It is an optional accessory, so usually won't be included in the box .. that is 'normal'.

About 淺景深相.. sorry that it is still not a job of S60.

Could you help me to check does they sell Wireless Controller for S60 ???? I think they make a mistake. I cannot search any Wireless Controller for S60 from Canon Website.
