Away from home, no CDRW, what to do with the photos in CF card?
I am now away from home, and I will be away from 2months, I have only 2 256mb CF card. I thought I could download photos in the computer here and burn into the cd, but found out that they don't have CDRW, what can I do????? HELP
Re: Away from home, no CDRW, what to do with the photos in CF card?
You can:
1. Go to large camera shop/supermarket/Costco, bring the Memory card and let them to transfer the files to CD for you.
2. Upload to online album (as kit.kit said). But wonder how many times you have to do that and capacity of your online album.
3. Buy a CDRW drive for your friend and burn CD there.
4. Buy an external hard-drive, plug it into your friend's computer and store all your photos. When you leave, take the entire hd back to HK.
Hope it helps.

I am thinking about buying a CDRW, but I don't know how to plug it in..... Is it difficult to do so? Can I do it by myself? (You know in HK, we just take the computer to the shop, and they will do everything for us, but here is difficult), What can I do???
Re: Away from home, no CDRW, what to do with the photos in CF card?
I tried to put my photos online in those online photo ablums, but I have some questions:
1. Why are the sizes of the photos much smaller? Do they cut sizes of photos? Orginal was like 2270x1??? but then they cut it into like 600x400, What can I do?
2. Are all the websites like that? Any good suggestions?
Is it a good idea to buy a portable storage? If it is, should I buy a "portable storage" or a "portable hard disk"? I checked on the internet a portable storage of 1.5gb is the same price as a portable hard disk of 30gb........ What makes that BIG difference???

stephenietam,
about your question 1, i am not sure which online photo ablum you are using. Some photo ablum like yahoo really will resize your photos. However, some allow the user to retrieve the original photos.
You may try www.imagestation.com
For question 2, why portable storage is more expensive than a portable harddisk is because portable storage allow you to save your image from your CF card directly to the device (without through a computer). However, if you need to store photo in a portable harddisk, you will need a computer for connecting the harddisk. Here make the difference!
In your case, if you already can access to a computer, i would suggest you to just buy a 20G/30G portable harddisk instead of portable
storage.
