The link didn't say anything converting from BNO to British passport. You need to fulfil the requirement before you become a British citizen.

That's right! I holding BNO and got spouse visa to UK, I have to live here for 5 years to apply Permanent residence permit, then wait for one more year to apply British Citizen!
