Sandy,
My Ho Yin gets up about 2 times (average) and sometimes he can sleep through without waking up.
My hubby sleeps at the same room as Ho Yin (coz I cant stand it).
He started to talk to him and rock him (his bassinet can rock).
He wouldnt pick him up and hold him.
He was spending hours to put him back to sleep.
His hard work paid off.
After about two weeks, Ho Yin didnt need to be held and couldnt be rocked back to sleep (not that tired).
Then my hubby decided not to rock him and let him cry a bit and see.
He was up and looked at him but he wouldnt do anything.
Now about one week, Ho Yin wakes up about 1 time (average) and he will cry a bit (one minute) then he will put himself to sleep again.
My hubby will sleep in the same room with bb for another week.
If he is OK, we will let him sleep by himself.
Ho Yin sleeps from 8:30pm to 6:30am which is recommended by the nurse here.
Some babies here even sleep longer.
Hope it help!! (I think men can handle baby crying a lot better than women) Hiiiiii
