Hi, chmanpong,In my case, as i just noted that I could apply wp after handed in my pr app, so I was a bit late to apply (6m after hand in pr app), in general case, i think whether apply at the same time with your pr app or after you hand in the pr app and get your pr client no from cic first, you still have to check the rule from the cic website. Of course, it is much better if you could hand in together with ur pr app.
I remember you have to make some copy of your pr app or evidence when u apply wk.

For their wp processing time, it is faster than pr app, so suppose you can get one before you get pr.

But one more important thing to note is, recently, cic canada has amended the pr processing time from generally 10m (inside canada) to 2 years, they announced so becox too many ppl applying pr. The ppl who is sponsored should live with the sponsor for at least 2 years to prove that they are in real marriage life, and seems there are more limitation for the one to be sponsored like the social benefit. So you should check it clearly from the website.

Hi Mabel1218,
It is accepted to apply the social health care card after you applied for pr, as i did. Submit the relevant pr no. and other copies they needed, they will send you the card by mail directly, as it is called CARECARD in province BC and other name outside BC. They don't have the rule and formal application form online, so I just write to CIC with copies and they accepted. I did it because I heard others got it so I tried too. If you are pregnant, it is very useful. The period before I got this card, i havent bought any medical insurance.
So try write to them asap and you can have your card faster.

The card is a temporary one, and is around 6m-1yr time, they will have you to call them and renew before expired in order to extend it before your pr approved.

Under the new proposal, now open for further public input, a spouse or partner being sponsored by a Canadian or permanent resident would be required to live together with their sponsor in a legitimate relationship for two years following receipt of their permanent resident status in Canada. If these steps are not pursued, the sponsored spouse or partner’s status could be revoked, possibly leading to their removal and in some instances, criminal charges could also be laid. For all legitimate relationships, the condition would cease to apply once the conditional period has elapsed.

The proposed conditional measure would help deter people from engaging in a relationship, such as a marriage or a common law partnership, for the purpose of acquiring status or privilege under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. This measure would apply to all spouses in relationships of two years or less who have no children with their sponsor at the time of the sponsorship application.

Sorry I think I made a mistake about the two year rule, the currently processing time is 14 months for inside Canada. Family with child or marriage more than than two years should not be affected by the new law.

呢個係cic.gc.ca 既OFFICIAL WEBSITE寫既，即係如果你地交申請表個一刻係結左婚／同居未滿兩年（加上冇兒女），咁你得到PR STATUS 個日開始，就要維持呢個關係（共同生活）最少兩年先可以KEEP到PR呢個身份，如果唔係就會冇左。呢個新REGULATIONS係講梗 [size=19.09090805053711px]on or after October 25, 2012遞交既申請。

裡面有好多附帶條件，即係如果家庭暴力問題，死亡等等既原因要分開就另計，佢講到尾都係怕D假結婚既一拎到PR身份就離婚就分居。不過我諗如果有D 係兩公婆其中一方拎到身份要返HK之類，唔知會唔會都唔得。因為兩公婆又係分開住。

大家要CHECK下（如果新婚同冇小朋友而定想申請既要注意啦）
