As per Msia consulate , you better apply citizenship for your baby before 1 year old
Below are the requirement that I apply for my son when I was in HKG last few month:
Go to the M'sia consulate at Wanchai, and bring below doc both in original copy & 2 set of photo copy:
1. Malaysia wedding certificate
2. Both of your Hong Kong Identity Card (both front & back must print on the same page)
3. Either you or your spouse Malaysia Identity Card (both front & back must print on the same page)
4.Both of your passport
5. Both of your birth certificate and baby's certificate.
6. 3pcs of white colored background photo
7. HK$104
After a year later, you will get the letter mailed from Malaysia. Once you got the letter, you need to pay RM100 to the consulate. And wait for 1.5 years later, you will get the citizenship.
Hi Ellie, I also applied HK ID card and HK passport for my baby as well. For Msia passport , I will apply it later and keep it aside. Until baby is 18 years old, let him decide whether he want to be Malaysian or HongKies~

I don\'t have Malaysia Wedding Certificate. Only Hong Kong Wedding certificate. Can my baby apply for Malaysian citizenship? I am Malaysian and my husband is from Hong Kong.
Have any of you successfully apply Malaysian passport for your baby in 2013 or 2014? I am a Malaysian and my husband is from Hong Kong. I went to Malaysia Consulate today and the staff told me Malaysia has not given out any passport to bb who is born foreign for 2 years already. The staff adviced me to deliver in Malaysia.
