Here is my background

Me - IT guy with 5 years experience, studied in AUS for 5years in 2000-2005.

My Wife - nurse with 10 years experiences in HK government hospital(oncology)

Kids – 3 years daughter and 1 month son

Finance status: If sold house, can have around 2M cash

Worry about

1) My wife cannot find job

2) The kid to school

3) Should I be full time take care baby until they all over 5 years old (to school)

Reason for immigrant to AUS
- for kid
- for retirement
- HK Political is going bad

Anyone have similar background, can you share your experiencein aus? Many thanks!

What about:
- apply now
- wait until your daughter is 5
- before moving to OZ
- then you only have one lot of childcare fee to worry about, while your daughter will start kindie

yes, only problem is parents....they are all over 75.

Thanks....whoami1977. Similar idea.

Exam now (ENG). apply early of 2016.

Around 1 year for apply. if success apply, boarding first and wait daughter when 5.

So, the little one to childcare or (kindergarten). I can do part time.

That's why I also learned different skill now. CCTV, security system, Lockpicking....will see anything can learn before go. I understand that the mindset need to change if I come over. :)

I passed the oet last month, so I\'m handling all the documents stuff, I can share with ur wife about how I did all the procedures of needed. actually there r many helpful nurses on baby kingdom

not much can be done for OET preparation as there are few materials on the internet. try to be exposed to english as much as possible. i listened a lot of english radio health talk topic to improve listening skills as listening is the most difficult paper to me for oet

My background and reasons for migration are quite similar as yours, and I just completed my landing trip last month.

If you have enough points to apply for 189, by all means go for it. You never know when your occupation may be taken out from SOL. You still have five years to consider settle in Oz or not after getting the visa approved.

I am back in HK after 1-week land trip, and plan to settle there in around 2018. In the meantime, my wife and I will try to save as much money as possible. My friends and relatives in Oz said it shouldn\'t be difficult to find an IT job in major cities. However, without local work experience, it can be tougher to secure the first job offer and you would probably start on a lower level compare to HK.

So, having enough capital to \"survive\" the first year would be vital. In addition to selling property in HK, you can also request to retrieve all MPF savings by stating that you are permanently leaving HK.
