兩個試程度有幾大差別？

我仔前排ICAS有啲成績返咗，強差人意，攪到我好擔心佢跟唔上，老師report話中等，但剛收到Naplan 又考得好好。所以宜家我都唔知佢程度其實如何...

每個人考得好和考得差嘅標準都唔一樣.

你話ICAS強差人意, 咁即係咩 grade 呢? Naplan 考得好好, 又即係咩 band 呢?

我自己嘅要求, ICAS 要有 Distinction 以上, Naplan 要band 頭甚至尖尖才達標.

因為澳洲實在太少公開考試, 學校又 hea 教, 所以呢D考試真係唯一俾家長知道

子女的學習程度去到邊, 特別係我目標要考入 selective 嘅家長, 越低年級知道

差距, 越早可以彌補不足.

NAPLAN 只考基本知識全無難度, 從 myschool 可看到每間学校的整体教育水平。

以下數據是朋友轉發給我，並沒有去官網進一步驗證，僅供參考。
Year 3
Reading： 28% 的學生在 Band 6 及以上。 10%左右的學生在三角形裡面。
Numeracy：17.3% 的學生在 Band 6 及以上。 8% 左右的學生在三角形裡面。
Writing： 13.3% 的學生在 Band 6 及以上。不到3% 左右的學生在三角形裡面。
Spelling：22.1% 的學生在 Band 6 及以上。 10% 左右的學生在三角形裡面。
Grammar and Punctuation：28.4% 的學生在 Band 6 及以上。 10% 左右的學生在三角形裡面。

Year 5
Reading： 16% 的學生在 Band 8 及以上。 5%左右的學生在三角形裡面。
Numeracy：9.9% 的學生在 Band 8 及以上。 3% 左右的學生在三角形裡面。
Writing： 3.8% 的學生在 Band 8 及以上。不到1% 左右的學生在三角形裡面。
Spelling：11.9% 的學生在 Band 8 及以上。 5% 左右的學生在三角形裡面。
Grammar and Punctuation：15.8% 的學生在 Band 8 及以上。

International Competitions and Assessments for Schools = ICAS

話明係 Competitions, 當然有D難度, 只要事前熟悉一下題型, 拿個 Credit 絕對容易.

前面20題基本是送分的題，很簡單，後面越來越難，才能拉開差距

High Distinction Certificate the top 1% of participants
Distinction Certificate the next 10% of participants
Credit Certificate the next 25% of participants
Merit Certificate the next 10% of participants
Participation Certificate for all remaining participants
Principal's Award Principals may wish to award this certificate to students who have made progress that may not have been recognised otherwise. The awarding of Certificates is entirely at the discretion of schools.

icas so far 2份返泥都係participation!! 但naplan 全部band 6(year 3), 有兩個area係至頂個三角，所以對比好大

不過我仔有話naplan喺卷清楚啲，佢話啲bubble (應該意指multiple choice啲格仔）係問題隔離，not confusing

可能icas 答題format唔同，所以mark錯哂！

佢上年icas有啲都考得ok,今年唔知發生咩事

係呀 bubble 即係答案格, Naplan 的確係清楚D,

但都要開始熟悉問題紙和答案紙分開答題, 將來其他公開試都會係分開答題,

以後考多幾次自然習慣, 今次 ICAS 派返卷後你可以同亞仔再改正/解釋,

睇下係咪填錯答案格.

到 year5 時 Naplan / ICAS 英數嘅成績都會係學校分數指標,

對考 selective 有一定幫助, 不過關鍵性還是 G.A. 的影響力更大.

Naplan 簡單好多,沒有参考成份。ICAS太概考到D或HD,才可參考為OC或SELECTIVE機會。再講入一點,沒有找補習GA或MATHS,機會會差D。

My boy got excellent results in ICAS but not very good in Naplan. As you know child can perform better if they are in good mood or do it more seriously.

Yes. there is no homework at all and just play everyday. That's why I asked him to do one topic of Mathsonline everyday if possible. So far, he is doing Year 9 topics in Mathsonline even though he is in Year 5 only. He just did Year 8 ICAS Maths in August and I am waiting for his result.

It seems to me that ICAS is not hard. My boy got ICAS Year 5 Math in credit when he was in Year 2. He got HD in ICAS Year 4 Maths when he was in Year 3.

Again. My boy miss 1% to get Distinction. As a Year 5 lazy boy, this result is accepted.
