For Canada - I think it will be considered as regular income and is taxed at whatever tax bracket you fall into (depending on your overall income, the higher the income the higher the tax rate).
The more important issue is you have to assess the value of your overseas property before you leave and if you sell it one day, the Cdn government will tax you on the appreciation/captial gains since the assessment.
