haha, I was designed sustainable buildings in China (Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin)before. We do concern on air ventilation and any design could save energy.
I did design buildings and turn the buildings and window facing south and let more air go inside the flat and less time needs to turn on air cond.
In addition, I promoted using solar energy heat water machine which can save a lot energy and all eqipments are place outside the flats...... more and more detailed design, including roof-top garden and landscape garden to reduce heat, collect rainwater to reuse....... all can save energy and $$$ (we proved it was worked).
