Lunar New Year may not be the best time to go to Okinawa, unless you want to view the cherry blossom (but still you have to check the Japanese weather website to see if it is the right time).
I went to Okinawa in the summer, and I therefore advise you that you may consider to save Okinawa for the summer time in your next tour.
