Dear all:

I am a nurse (who get a psychiatric nurse license only) in HK but i did not have general nurse license. I studied the Bachelor Degree of U of Western Sydney (Australia). Can I find a nurse job in US?

Do anyone can tell me? Or any resource for reference? Cos i ask the immigrant agent but they had no information for me.

And I plan to go to Seattle. Thanks a lot!

You would have to be certified by the nursing board. And also pass exams to obtain state license. Each state is a little different in their state licensure.

Info can be found on National Council of State Board of Nursing:

As far as I know, all foreign trained nurses have to at least pass a national written exam.

For seattle, this is what you need to do on top of passing the exam:

Some states require passing written and practical exams, so you would need to see and apply. All states require fingerprinting clearance for healthcare licensure.

Most hospitals in US also require a drugscreen and physical exam as part of the pre-hiring process. All these things, plus going through HR, physicals etc can take up to 18 months before you can start on a job even if you have a job offer. So... start early.
